Changes and Refunds for Delays/Cancellations Attributable to Force Majeure (e.g., bad weather)

Eligible Delays/Cancellations

  • Flight delays and cancellations attributable to bad weather, such as typhoons or snow
  • Flight delays and cancellations attributable to force majeure, such as earthquakes or flooding

Changing Your Flight Reservation (to a different flight on the same sector)

You can change your flight to a different flight with vacant seats departing within the 30 days following the originally reserved departure date.
Please complete the necessary procedures within the 10 days following the originally reserved departure date.

  • Tickets reserved with a fare permitting reservation changes which are canceled and subsequently become open-ended can be used for flights departing within the 30 days following the original departure date or up until the ticket expires, whichever is longer.
Changing Your Flight Reservation (to a different flight on the same sector)

[E.g.] A ticket reserved with IBEX3 for a departure date of August 7 can be changed to a flight departing up to and including September 6 on the same sector.

■If there is a fare difference upon changing your reservation:
If the fare after changing your reservation is greater than the fare upon purchase, you will not be asked to pay the difference.
If the fare after changing your reservation is less than the fare upon purchase, you will be refunded the difference.
  • For tickets reserved with fares that do not permit reservation changes, there will be no adjustment made regardless of any difference in fare amount.
■Changing to a Different Airline
Changes to other airlines are available for tickets reserved with fares that permit this. Any fare difference will be payable by the passenger.
■Handling Fees
Refund and cancellation fees will not apply upon changing your reservation.

Available at IBEX website, ANA airport counters and the Reservation and Service Center.
  • Refunds are available at ANA airport counters for those who have already obtained their tickets.
  • Refunds can be made on the IBEX website up to 10 days after the scheduled departure date of your reserved flight only if the flight is eligible for a fee waiver.
■Refund Amount
Before starting your journey: You will be refunded the entire fare and fee amounts paid.
After starting your journey: You will be refunded the fare and fee amounts for any unboarded sectors.
■Handling Fees
Refund and cancellation fees will not apply upon requesting a refund.
■Refund Period
  • (1)Fares permitting reservation changes
    Available within the ticket validity period and up to 30 days thereafter.
  • (2)Fares not permitting reservation changes
    Available up to 30 days following the departure date of the reserved flight.
  • Please ensure that you make your request within the refund period. Please be aware that refunds are not available after the refund period expires.

Expenses Resulting from Delays/Cancellations Attributable to Force Majeure

About Changes and Refunds for Delays/Cancellations Attributable to Force Majeure (e.g., bad weather)

Flights affected by delays, cancellations, or other disruptions due to force majeure are as follows.

  • Flight delays and cancellations attributable to bad weather, such as typhoons or snow
  • Flight delays and cancellations attributable to force majeure, such as earthquakes or flooding

Flights delayed, canceled, or otherwise affected due to force majeure are eligible for cancellation charge exemptions.

Reservation Changes (Changes to the Same Flight Segment)

■Ticket Handling
  • Even when changing your reservation due to a delay or cancellation caused by force majeure, the change must be completed before the scheduled departure time of your reserved flight.
    Changes cannot be made after the scheduled departure time, regardless of the fare. Please note this.
  • Please make the change through the sales channel where your ticket was originally purchased.
  • You may change your reservation to a flight departing within 7 days before or after the scheduled departure date of your reserved flight.
  • Regardless of the fare, you may change your itinerary once.
    For fares that permit changes, you may make a second or subsequent change. If there is a fare difference, the difference will be collected or refunded.
■Cancellation Charges and Fare Difference Adjustments
  • No cancellation charge will be applied, and no fare difference adjustment will be made when changing flights eligible for a cancellation charge exemption.
  • For itineraries consisting of 2 or more flight segments (such as round-trip itineraries), changes to both the eligible flight and any non-eligible flight can be made without a fare difference adjustment only if they are processed at the same time.
    If you change an eligible flight first and later request a change to a non-eligible flight, the additional change is permitted only for fares that permit changes. In such cases, a fare difference adjustment may apply.

■Changes to Other Airlines' Flights or Different Flight Segments
If a delay or cancellation due to force majeure occurs and IBEX Airlines specifically authorizes it, you may change to a flight operated by another airline or a different flight segment.

Reservation Refunds

■Ticket Handling
  • The refund eligibility period varies depending on the usage status of your ticket.
    Please be sure to complete the refund procedure within the applicable refund eligibility period.
    Refunds cannot be processed after the refund eligibility period has expired,regardless of the fare. Please note this.
  • Unused Within 1 Year and 30 Days from the Date of Issue
    Partially Used Within 1 Year and 30 Days from the Travel Commencement Date
    If a New Ticket Has Been Issued Due to an Itinerary Change Within 1 Year and 30 Days from the Date the Latest Ticket Was Issued Before Any Use
  • Please request your refund through the website, travel agency, airport counter, or other sales channel where your ticket was purchased.
  • Refunds via IBEX website can be requested up to 4 days after the scheduled departure date of your reserved flight.
    After this period, please contact the Reservation and Service Center.
■Cancellation Charges and Refund Amount
  • No cancellation charge will apply when refunding flights eligible for a cancellation charge exemption.
  • For itineraries consisting of 2 or more flight segments (such as round-trip itineraries), refunds are exempt from cancellation charges only if refunds for both the eligible flight and any non-eligible flight are processed at the same time.
    If a refund for an eligible flight is processed first and a refund for a non-eligible flight is requested at a later time, a cancellation charge will apply.
  • The refund amount differs depending on whether the refund is requested before or after the start of your itinerary.
     Before the start of your itinerary: The full fare and any applicable charges paid will be refunded.
     After the start of your itinerary: The full fare and any applicable charges for the unused flight segment(s) will be refunded.
